Most of us in the northern hemisphere experience extreme cold during the long winter months. Those who are fortunate enough to have the luxury of a fireplace in their homes, know that nothing quite defrosts our frozen digits and hearts quicker than some time in front of a warm, cozy fire.

One definite thorn in the side of fireplace owners everywhere is the troublesome task of storing their firewood. Many just throw it in a pile in the backyard and some even take the time to throw a tarp over that pile but with the gale force winds, and snow, that is not the most effective way to keep your wood fresh.

The easiest way to solve this problem is to simply buy a large plastic tub with a top that fastens securely. Depending on how much firewood you are attempting to store you may obviously need more than one. A nice plastic container will keep most of the bugs and the weather out so that your wood will burn properly when you need it most.
